The Washington Figure Skating Club is proud to support our Junior Board, a dynamic leadership group made up of four dedicated skaters aged 16 to 18. This initiative gives our younger members a meaningful voice in the club while helping them grow as leaders and contributors to our skating community.

Purpose of the Junior Board
The Junior Board exists to bridge the gap between our club’s experienced leadership and the vibrant perspectives of our next generation of skaters. By empowering teens with real responsibility, we achieve several important goals:
Fostering Leadership and Personal Development
Serving on the Junior Board provides young skaters with a hands-on opportunity to build essential leadership skills, including communication, teamwork, event planning, and decision-making. These experiences support both their personal growth and future success on and off the ice.
.Bringing Fresh Ideas and Innovation.
Junior Board members offer new viewpoints that help keep our club activities exciting and relevant. Their input drives creative improvements to events, social gatherings, and outreach efforts—ensuring the Washington Figure Skating Club remains dynamic and forward-thinking.
Strengthening Community Ties
By actively engaging younger skaters, the Junior Board helps build stronger connections across all age groups. It creates a more inclusive environment where every member feels valued and invested in the club’s future.
