General Information
The 2025 Potomac Open will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of U.S. Figure Skating, as set forth in the current rulebook, as well as any pertinent updates that have been posted on the U.S. Figure Skating website.
Event Dates: August 15 – 17, 2025
Registration Dates: NQS opening noon, June 11 registration
Non qualifying registration opens noon, June 12 registration

Air Travel: There are a couple of options for flying into the Washington DC area. The closest airport, Dulles International Airport (IAD), is approximately 10 miles from Ashburn Ice House.

Volunteers
WFSC events are all volunteer-led, and we could not host our competitions without our volunteers. We will need over 50 people to keep this competition running well. Volunteers will have access to a hospitality room at the event with snacks and drinks. If you can lend a hand, please sign up HERE.
Additional Details
Photos: Action photos are provided by Melanie Heaney Photography for an additional fee. Skaters will receive an email about pre-orders before the competition and will be able to order action photos at the competition.
Videos: Videos by Looking Glass Productions are included in the registration fee. Information for downloading the videos will be sent out to the skaters after the competition. There is no live streaming.
Competition Souvenir Shirt & other apparel: There will be t-shirts and other Potomac apparel for sale at the Crab & Anchor Apparel booth at the competition. Skaters can also purchase items from the Potomac Open webstore. Potomac Open webstore.
Check-In & Ready Rooms:
Check-in will open on Friday, August 15, 2025 approximately 45 minutes prior to the first practice ice.
Skaters should arrive no later than 1 hour before their event (or 30 minutes before early morning practice ice) to allow enough time for the check-in process. They should arrive in costume, with hair and makeup done. The ready rooms are available only for putting skates on.
